Carina Berg will host Melodifestivalen 2024

After announcing the full running order of Melodifestivalen 2024 only a few days ago, more news are coming from SVT regarding their annual national selection for Eurovision. SVT has just confirmed that there will be one host of the show this year, and it’s none other than the award-winning presenter and journalist Carina Berg!

Over the years, Carina Berg led countless programs on both radio and television, including Pop Idol, The Voice, Morgonpasset in P3, and many other shows. Carina has also led the “Barncancergalan” – Swedish humor award for several years now, as well as a podcast together with Carolina Gynning. Taking on the hosting role at Melodifestivalen 2024, Carina stated:

I feel so honored and happy that I will be able to host the entire show. It’s the biggest TV production I’ve been involved in, so it doesn’t just feel big, it IS big. It’s going to be so much fun and I can’t wait for it to start.

Melodifestivalen’s Project Manager, Anders Wistbacka spoke out about the selection of the host, and stated:

For this year’s Melodifestivalen, we wanted a presenter with a capital P. We wanted a professional who is experienced, and loved by the viewers. Someone who can lead the show with a warm, glamorous and humorous tone. We put the question to Carina Berg and she said yes! I am very happy and proud and know that we have found the right one.

This year’s Melodifestivalen marathon begins on the 3rd of February in Malmö – the host city of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and it will end five weeks later, on the 2nd of March in Friends Arena in Stockholm.

Loreen won last year’s edition of Melodifestivalen, and went on to win Eurovision in Liverpool as well, with her smashing hit “Tattoo”. Check out her performance from the Melodifestivalen Final in Stockholm once again right here:
