The ones in charge for the design of this years stage are scenographer Viktor Brattström together with designer of light Ferdrik Stormby and their team. They were closely collaborating alongside other lighting designers, scenographers, image producers, creators and project managers in order to create a design and construction which could work longer over time and in addition to that manage to fit in smaller venues.

The stage can offer great variety and the arena feel will be elegant and festive, both joy and excitement are promised. Everyone will recognize themselves in the wonderful and lively party atmosphere. That feeling is always part of Melodifestivalen’s identity. A challenge this year has been to become more compact without losing the grandeur and dynamic. We think we succeeded. I am grateful to have been a part of this event and its development over the years.

Giant LED screens and the pink colour are the two things which lead the concept of this edition of Melodifestialen. The stage will feature two angled LED walls and a LED floor which is spread on 72 square meters. Pink colour would be repeated throughout the arena design, on everything from balloons to the lighting over the audience. They also worked to increase the closeness between the audience and the performers, placing a narrow playing area in the stalls which creates alternative positions for the host of Melodifestivalen.
