Zsa Zsa withdraws from Dora 2024 ahead of song reveal tomorrow

According to Croatian news site index.hr, Zsa Zsa, real name Jelena Žnidarić, will not be competing at Dora 2024, despite appearing in the official list of participants revealed by HRT in mid-December. As of yet, no reason has been given for her withdrawal.

For many fans in Croatia, she was one of the most anticipated names on the list, having had major success at home. Her song Sve u meni se budi, in collaboration with future Dora winner Damir Kedžo, reached No.1 and was the best selling single in the country in 2017. She’s subsequently had another eight Top 5 hits in the Croatian charts, including Tragom tvojih tragova, in collabroation with Eurovision 2001 representative Vanna.

Zsa Zsa was due to compete with a song titled Probudi usne moje (“Wake up my lips”), but rules of the show dictate that the first reserve will now take her place: Baby Lasagna, with the song Rim tim tagi dim. This, along with the other 23 competing songs, will be revealed tomorrow (4th January) from 14:00 CET, on the HRT Radio 2 show “Svijet diskografije“. Among these will be songs from former champions Damir Kedžo and Let 3, who represented Croatia in Liverpool last year with the song Mama ŠČ!, finishing 13th in the Grand Final.
