Listen to Nemo with ‘The Code’ – the Swiss entry for Eurovision 2024

Three days ago we got news about the plans for the reveal of Swiss entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Just minutes ago the song has been released at the official YouTube channel. Switzerland will be represented by Nemo with “The Code”.

Nemo is born in 1999 in a small bilingual Swiss town, Biel, now they reside in Berlin. As a child Nemo was playing several musical instruments including: piano, violin and drums. Their road to fame started in 2016 when the appearance at SRF Virus (#Cypher), got viral on social media. After that experience Nemo released two EPs and so far they received five Swiss Music Awards. The year 2020 marks a period of production and writing music for other artists. Some of the topics Nemo covers in their songs are: mental health, gender identity and finding one‘s place in this world.

The Code’ is about the journey I started with the realisation that I am neither a man nor a woman. Finding myself has been a long and often difficult process for me. But nothing feels better than the freedom I have gained by realising that I am non-binary.

The Code was written by Nemo as well as Lasse Nyman, Linda Dale and Benjamin Alasu. Nemo describes the song as the artistic manifesto of their journey adding that it is a piece of music which combines rap, drum n‘ bass as well as opera.

Nemo will be performing in the first half of the second semi-final which is set to take place on the 9th of May. You can check out the official music video of “The Code” below
