Last December it was revealed that Olly Alexander, will be the one to represent United Kingdom at the stage of Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. Today his entry “Dizzy” was released on all streaming platforms including the official music video.
The song has been written by Olly and Danny L Harle, a producer who collaborated with stars such as Dua Lipa and Caroline Polachek. Oliver Alexander Thornton, known as Olly Alexander is a 33 years old musician who made his breakthrough as the lead singer of Years & Years back in 2015, Olly released three studio albums out of which two ended as #1 at UK Albums chart. Alexander is also an actor, who performed in musicals but the role in TV show “It’s a Sin”, got Olly a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television and the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor In 2021.
Tonight with the beginning at 23:40 CET a special show named Eurovision 2024: Graham Meets Olly will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Last year UK was represented by Mae Muller who scored 24 points and ended the contest as 25th in the final. Olly will try to improve that result in the grand final of Eurovision 2024 which is set to take place on the 11th of May. Check out the official music video of “Dizzy” below
