Bulgaria will not take part in next year’s Eurovision

The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT has announced this morning that Bulgaria will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, even though the broadcaster submitted the necessary preliminary paperwork to the EBU last month.

The reason for yet another withdrawal of this Balkan country is due to lack of funds, as no sponsors have been found to finance Bulgaria’s participation. This will be the second year in a row that Bulgaria won’t participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. Thus, Bulgaria joins Andorra, Croatia, Czech Republic, Monaco, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine, in a list of countries which confirmed their absence in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

Nevertheless, for those hardcore fans of Bulgaria, the country will still participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Malta next month. The youngster, Krisia Marinova Todorova will be singing the song “Planet of the Chilidren”, alongside piano virtuosos Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatov. Give it a listen!
