Five jury members decided about 10 songs for Polish National Final

Today in “Swiat Sie Kreci” live-show hosted by Agata Mlynarska, TVP1 revealed all five jury members who selected 10 songs for National Final 2016. Officialy – 88 songs submitted but few artists decided to apply with more than one composition. Here are the members of TVP jury:

  • Anna Will (Polish Radio)
  • Artur Orzech (Eurovision commentator, radio and television journalist and presenter)
  • Zbigniew Kukla (conductor, composer)
  • Robert Janowski (singer, composer, TV host and actor)
  • Waldemar Skowroński (journalist)

Anna Will, the only female member, said Eurovision is very specific event especially for her as she is mostly connected with radio songs rather than TV songs. Zbigniew Kukla admits that TVP received many different entries but he picked the best one according to his own taste. He mentioned, Eurovision has three typical kind of songs: strong ballads, radio hits (like “Heroes” by Mans Zelmerlow) and freaks (like Lordi).

All juries agree that the importance of the show increased thanks to Edyta Gorniak who decided to take part in National Final. This year many popular names confirmed their wish to represent Poland in Stockholm and TVP hopes Polish National Finals will keep this prestige in the future. Artur Orzech mentioned different ways to select Eurovision entry and reminded about tonights Georgian announcement show. He is surprised that Young Georgian Lolitaz decided to represent Georgia in Eurovision but he likes them very much and he even played their songs in his radio auditions.

Today several Polish gossip-news websites published the list of participants for National Final. It included i.e. Edyta Gorniak, Margaret, Renata Wolkiewicz from Russian “The Voice”, Michal Szpak, Stashka (Baltic Song Contest 2014 winner) and band Piekni i Mlodzi. TVP named this list as a fake and the broadcaster will take legal action against the person who shared this information. The official announcement will take place on Tuesday 16th February at 18:30 in “Swiat sie kreci” hosted by Artur Orzech and broadcasted by TVP1. You can follow the show online HERE.
