Isabella Clarke will represent Australia at Junior Eurovision 2017!

Australia have also announced their participant for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi!

They have chosen Isabella Clarke to represent them in the Georgian capital. Isabella has been singing for nearly 5 years already, is 13 years old herself, loves spending time with friends and family and confesses she is a bit of a foodie. As musical inspirations she cites Mary J. Blige and Beyoncé. She currently holds the position as principal vocalist in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular. In the future she hopes to become an international recording artist.

About the challenge ahead, no one can blame Isabella for not being enthusiastic. This is what she had to say:

I’m so honoured to be given the opportunity to represent Australia at such an amazing event. I can’t wait to start rehearsals and film the music video! I’m also looking forward to visiting Georgia for the first time and meeting all the other performers. It’s a dream come true and I hope I do my family and Australia proud.

Isabella was chosen after broadcaster ABC and production partner Blink TV had talks with various big Australian record companies to deliberate on who would be best to send to Georgia. And they sure are happy with their choice! Michael Carrington, Head of ABC’s Children’s Television said:

Isabella displayed all the qualities we were looking for in this year’s Australian representative. She has an incredible voice and stage presence and we believe she’ll do exceptionally well at Junior Eurovision. We look forward to her song debut and following her journey as she embarks on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Paul Clarke, Director of Blink TV also trusts her completely:

Isabella will do us all proud. She has a terrific voice and we are looking forward to her performance in Tbilisi, Georgia. With 16 countries competing it’s also a wonderful opportunity to connect with other young performers and enjoy the celebration which is the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

ABC, Blink TV and songwriters have already begun their hunt for Isabella’s song. Isabella keeps her lips sealed on News to Me but it’s already known that the song will be ”fun and catchy”! The song itself will premiere on the 8th of October.

Until then, let’s see what Isabella can do. This is her rendition of Rufus and Chaka Khan’s classic ‘Ain’t Nobody’:

Isabella Clarke will be competing for Australia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 on the 26th of November in Tbilisi, Georgia.
