Jury for Romania’s Selecția Națională 2017 Announced

TVR, the Romanian national broadcaster has announced the judges for Selecția Națională 2017. The jury will consist of Luminiţa Anghel, Ovi Jacobsen, Adrian Romcescu, Paula Seling and Andrei Tudor.

Luminiţa Anghel represented Romania in Kiev back in 2005 with the song “Let Me Try” taking 3rd place. Ovi Jacobsen and Paula Seling have represented Romania twice at Eurovision before in 2010 and 2014 with “Playing with Fire” and “Miracle” respectively.

Adrian Romcescu participated previously as a composer in Birmingham in 1998 for the late Malina Olinescu with the song “Eu Cred”. The jury is completed by Andrei Tudor, who is the composer of Romania’s 2008 entry “Pe-o Margine de lume” which was performed in Belgrade by Nico & Vlad Miriţă.

From Friday 27th till Sunday 29th January the jury will hear the 72 entries registered for the pre-selection and recordings of these selections will be broadcast in a series of programmes on Romanian television between the 5th and 11th February. The 15 qualifying semi finalists will be revealed in a live broadcast on TVR on Sunday 12th February at 21.00 CET.

The semi final show will then take place on Sunday 26th February with the final show a week later on Sunday 5th March on TVR.
