Svala will represent Iceland in Kiev!
Tonight, was held in Iceland, the Final of Söngvakeppnin 2017, the Icelandic national selection for Eurovision. Seven acts competed with the hope of winning the golden ticket to represent Iceland in Kiev, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017:
- Aron Hannes – Tonight
- Arnar Jónsson & Rakel Pálsdóttir – Again
- Aron Brink – Hypnotized
- Hildur – Bammbaramm
- Rúnar Eff – Make you way back home
- Svala – Paper
- Daði Freyr Pétursson – Is this love?
Tonight’s result was decided by a jury (50%) and by the televoters (50%). In the first round, Svala got the most points from both the jury and the televoters. Daði Freyr Pétursson who finished second, also qualified for the super-final.

At the end of the night, Svala triumphed and will represent Iceland in Kiev, at Eurovision 2017. She will sing her song ”Paper” during the first semi-final on the 9th of May. Greta Salome, Alexander Rybak and Mans Zelmerlow perfomed during the show.
