Eleni Foureira to represent Cyprus with ‘Fuego’!

Today it has been confirmed by Cypriot broadcaster CyBC: the island of Cyprus will be represented by Eleni Foureira!

Eleni is a popular star in the Greek music scene. She was part of the girl group Mystique, but started her solo career in 2010. She has played a part in the musical Barbarella: the 80’s Musical, together with Eurovision stars like Katy Garbi and Ivi Adamou.

She has tried to represent Greece back in 2010, taking part in their national final together with Manos Pyrovolakis with ‘Kivotos tou noe’ but placed second. Since then Eleni has been rising on the Greek music scene, scoring hit after hit of which ‘Anemos agapis’, ‘Sto theo ma paei’ and ‘To kati pou echeis’ are just a few.

The staging of Eleni’s entry is in the hands of Sacha Jean-Baptiste, the Swedish artistic director and choreographer who has been staging the entries of several countries in recent years, among which Young Georgian Lolitaz’ ‘Midnight Gold’, ‘Fly With Me’ byt Artsvik and for Kristian Kostov: ‘Beautiful Mess’.

Eleni’s entry ‘Fuego’ has been written by Alex Papaconstantinou, a Swedish composer and music producer of Greek origin. Alex is no stranger to Eurovision himself, having written ‘Yassou Maria’ (Greece 2007), ‘Always’ (Azerbaijan 2009) and La La Love (Cyprus 2012) before.

‘Fuego’ will be released in the upcoming weeks but in the meantime, check out one of Eleni’s latest hits ‘To kati pou echeis’!
