Elina Nechayeva to represent Estonia with ‘La Forza’

The final of Estonia’s national final, Eesti Laul finished a few moments ago and we can now reveal that Elina Nechayeva will represent Estonia in Lisbon with her song ‘La Forza’.

The song has been a huge favorite to win the Estonian ticket to Eurovision ever since the performance in the first semi-final was aired, but faced competition from some strong acts, including former Estonian entrant Stig Rasta with his song ‘Home’.

The result was determined in two stages. Firstly a 50/50 vote split between jury and televotes, which selected the top 3 songs to go on to the ‘superfinal’.  Those songs were:

  • Stig Rasta – ‘Home’
  • Elina Necheyeva – ‘La Forza’
  • Vajé – ‘Laura (Walk With Me’)

A further round of televoting followed which were added to the televotes from the first round to give the overall winner. La Forza won the vote with a massive 70%, with Stig Rasta in 2nd place, and Vajé 3rd.
