Ben Camille to host X Factor Malta!

Maltese national broadcaster TVM have announced that their entrant for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Israel, is going to be selected through the first ever edition of X Factor Malta. Now, the organizers have announced that the host of this show is going to be Ben Camille.

Ben Camille is no stranger to Eurovision events, as in 2016 he hosted the Maltese national selection for Eurovision, presented the votes of the Maltese jury in the Stockholm contest, and also co-hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which took place in Malta. About his newest role, Ben stated:

This is a dream come true. The X factor  is one of the most prestigious TV formats and I feel humbled with this great opportunity.

You can still apply to take part in the first edition of The X Factor Malta. Applications can be found online on tvm.com.mt/xfactormalta, or you can also send a video clip through Whatsapp to the following number: 77062018. The application deadline is today (4th of July). The winner of X Factor Malta will go on to represent Malta in Eurovision 2019 in Israel, but also get a record deal with Sony Music Italy.

This will be the first time ever that Malta will not have their traditional national selection where they will pick their entry for Eurovision. Earlier this year Christabelle represented her country with “Taboo”, and even though she finished fifth in the semi final with the juries, her last place in televoting meant she would finish 13th overall.
