“Israel Calling 2020” cancelled due to the coronavirus

With its first edition taking place back in 2016 at “The Theater” club in Tel Aviv, the “Israel calling” party joined the list of numerous Eurovision song promotion parties, which take place yearly just before the contest takes place. But things are always shiny in Eurovision.

It is today that the “Israel calling” production announced that due to the Israeli government’s instructions due to the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) prohibiting any event both indoor and outdoor with over 100 people this year’s party won’t be taking place.

It is with a heavy heart that we must cancel the 2020 edition of Israel Calling.

The health and safety of visitors is always our top priority. The uncertainty of this worldwide pandemic won’t allow us to guarantee our guests’ well-being.

We, like all events in Israel and all over the world, are subject to the regulations of our government. In recent days Israel has banned indoor and outdoor events of over 100 people and severely restricted flights. This is as the number of cases of Covid-19 continues to rise significantly.

Israel Calling looks forward to welcoming you to its next edition ahead of Eurovision 2021.

Since it’s first edition the event gained more and more popularity among Israelis to such level where the 2018’s edition took place in Rabin’s square, one of Tel Aviv’s biggest squares as the quantity of people couldn’t be hosted in a closed venue.

Do you think this cancelation will cause a domino effect which will make other countries surrender to Coronavirus or is it just one single case? Share your opinion with us in the comments below !
