Germany will participate in Junior Eurovision 2020!

For the first time ever, Germany is going to be entering the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year! The Contest is going to be held in Warsaw on the 29th of November.

KiKA, NDR and ZDF are looking for children aged 9 to 14 to send their submissions to become Germany’s first ever entrant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The composer of the song has already been chosen as well – the 17 year old Levent Geiger is going to be composing the song. He was one of the finalists in last year’s edition of “Dein Song”.

Dr. Astrid Plenk, the Programme Manager of KiKA stated:

I am very happy that we managed to get Germany involved in this great European song contest and to offer it through KiKA. We found a wonderful way of creative collaboration with NDR and ZDF, in which all partners can contribute ideally will be a huge event and experience for our KiKA audience and the whole family.

Germany is the fourth Big Five country to confirm it’s participation in Junior Eurovision 2020, after Spain, Italy and France. What type of song would you like to hear from Germany in Warsaw? Let us know in the comments below, or on our social media pages.
