Marius Bear To Represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2022!

After a rocky start to the 2000s at Eurovision (failing to qualify 11 times and one last place since 2000), Switzerland is coming off a 4th place finish in Tel Aviv and a bronze medal in Rotterdam. The Swiss have their hopes high that Marius Bear can get them back on the podium this May at Eurovision in Turin! His song Boys Do Cry was released today on Eurovision’s official YouTube channel.

Who is Marius Bear?

Marius Hügli (stage name Marius Bear) is 28-year-old Swiss-German singer-songwriter from Enggenhütten. He has studied music production at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute and plays guitar. He’s also a trained constuction mechanic! Marius won the Swiss Music Award in 2019 – the same year he released his debut album Not Loud Enough which peaked at 20th position on the Swiss Charts. He has also released a cover of Whitney Houston’s classic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” on Spotify and at time of writing, it has more than 3.4 million streams!

Marius is currently planning to release his next album Boys Do Cry at the end of March.

After that of course, Marius Bear will compete in the first half of the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 10th May in the PalaOlimpico in Turin.
