After confirming this year’s Eurovision participation, it’s been confirmed by Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne today, that representatives of Ukraine at 2022 Eurovision Song Contest – Kalush Orchestra – confirmed their participation in Turin, as they’re definitely travelling to Italy and represent the nation at the contest. They’ve decided that the best thing they can do for the country now is to support Ukraine with their performances and through communication with the European audience.
Therefore, for the first time since the beginning of the large-scale Russian war in Ukraine, the band gathered in Lviv and began preparations for a performance in Turin.
Kalush Orchestra also agreed to take part in promotional concerts ahead of Eurovision. The band intends to gather donations to support Ukraine. The details of the promotional tour and events that Kalush Orchestra will participate in will be announced in the coming days.
The band says:
“We want to show the world community Ukrainian music, our spirit and how unbreakable we are. We really need support in this difficult time.”
Kalush Orchestra plan to start the promotional tour abroad on Sunday. UA: PBC has secured the official authorization for the band’s travel from the state authorities.
