Senhit to Host Sammarinese National Final

At a press conference in Rome yesterday, representatives of San Marino’s government and Eurovision broadcaster SMRTV provided a further update on preparations for the 2023 edition of Una voce per San Marino.

It was announced that last year’s host (and former Eurovision participant for San Marino 2011, 2020, 2021) Senhit will be one of the hosts of the Grand Final of UVPSM, along with Jonathon! Furthermore, last year’s winner Achille Lauro will make an appearance as a “super guest” during the live show.

The General Director of SMRTV Ludovico Di Meo had this to say about the organization so far:

Achille Lauro’s feat served to make this new [selection] format known … Like everything new we need to grow, and we will do it, year after year. We will have to be lucky and also good – to find a new, real talent to bring to Liverpool, the home of the Beatles.

The “Casting Stage” is set to begin next week on 28th October and after several pauses, conclude on 27th January. Selected artists must appear at the Little Tony Auditorium in San Marino to be eligible for the next stage. During the Casting Stage, the jury will select approximately 60 acts who will advance to the Semi Finals of UVPSM 2023!

February 2023 will see five Semi Finals, and the field of 60 hopefuls narrowed down to 20 who will compete in the Grand Final at Teatro Nuovo in Dogana on 25th February! A five-member jury will decide the winner of the competition. Two judges will be chosen by SMRTV, another by the State Department for Tourism, with the final two chosen by the production company (MediaEvolution).
