King Charles set to unveil Eurovision stage

Ahead of his Coronation, King Charles III, along with his spouse Camilla, will head to Liverpool on Wednesday. It seems that even the Royal family cannot escape the Eurovision bubble, as King Charles will ceremoniously “turn on the lights” to reveal the Eurovision Song Contest stage for 2023!

The Royal couple will tour the M&S Bank Arena on Wednesday 26th April, just days before the first rehearsals are due to begin. Once there, they will meet two of this year’s Eurovision hosts – Julia Sanina and Hannah Waddingham – along with the United Kingdom’s 2023 representative Mae Muller, and other staff working on the event.

In addition to touring the arena, their royal highnesses with also take part in other Eurovision inspired activities around the city. They will visit Liverpool Central Library to officially mark its twinning with the Regional Scientific Library in Odesa, Ukraine’s first public library.

The Royals will also meet some of the people involved in ‘EuroFest‘ (with activities spread out across the city) and ‘EuroLearn’ (a Eurovision-inspired education programme for primary and secondary students).
