Il Volo and Mahmood are back as Rai announces lineup for Sanremo 2024
After Sweden confirmed its list of artists for Melodifestivalen on Friday, today it was the turn of another Eurovision powerhouse, Italy, to reveal its artists vying to win the 74th Festival di Sanremo, and potentially become Italy’s 48th Eurovision artist.
According to the Festival’s rules, the winner of Sanremo will “earn the right” to go on to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö in May 2024.
On Sunday’s Tg1 news, Sanremo’s artistic director and host Amadeus announced the names of the 27 “Big” artists for Sanremo 2024:
- Fiorella Mannoia
- Geolier
- Dargen D’Amico
- Emma
- Fred De Palma
- Angelina Mango
- La Sad
- Diodato
- Il Tre
- Renga & Nek
- Sangiovanni
- Alfa
- Il Volo
- Alessandra Amoroso

- Rose Villain
- Mahmood
- Loredana Bertè
- The Kolors

The song titles will be shown later during the Sanremo Giovani shows. For Sanremo 2024, the top 3 from Sanremo Giovani will join the “Big” at the Sanremo Festival, creating a show of 30 artists this February — the most ever in Sanremo history! Amadeus also gave Tg1 viewers a sneak peak at what the stage will look like in February.
Running from the 6th to the 10th of February 2024, the Festival will feature some previous Sanremo contestants, including Emma, Il Volo, Mahmood, Irama, Annalisa, Renga & Nek, Fiorella Mannoia, Loredana Bertè, Mr. Rain, and Dioato.
Finally, as always with Sanremo, while we know the artists, it won’t be possible to hear their songs until they are performed live during the Festival. This year we’ll see Amadeus host for the final time, along with a different co-host on each evening of the Festival.
