Voting system of Das Deutsche Finale 2024 explained

A month ago, German broadcaster NDR has revealed eight artists and songs which will compete at Das Deutsche Finale 2024. Last Friday in the final of “Ich will zum ESC” we found out the last act competing for a chance to represent Germany at Eurovision 2024. The final is set to take place on 16th of February at Studio Berlin Adlershof.

Today, German broadcaster, NDR, has revealed the way voting is going to take place at Das Deutsche Finale 2024. The winner will be decided by a combined vote of the audiene 50% and international jury votes 50%. Firstly eight international juries consisting out of five music professionals will rate the songs based on their performance during the dress rehearsal which will take place on the night prior to the final. They will evaluate the songs in the Eurovision scoring system. After all eight international juries cast their votes the act with the highest amount of jury points will end up getting twelve points, second place ten, third eight and so on based on the Eurovision scoring system. In the same way the audience votes will be converted. The act which receives the biggest amount of the their votes will be getting the twelve points and so on. In the case of a tie the audience vote will be the tie breaker.

The broadcast of the show will start at 22:05 CET and it will be available on Das Erste, eurovision.de, and ARD.  Mediathek. Last year Germany was represented by Lord of the Lost whose performance of the song “Blood & Glitter” got only 18 points in the final of Eurovision 2023 and ended on last place.
