Five spanish cities bid to host Junior Eurovision 2024

In 2024, twenty years after María Isabel’s victory with ‘Antes muerta que sencilla’, Spain and RTVE will once again organize Junior Eurovision. Thanks to Sandra Valero’s second place and France’s refusal to organize the contest, this international competition will be held in Spain this year.

This time, five cities have shown interest in hosting this event. Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Málaga and Granada have formally presented their candidacy to be the city where Junior Eurovision will be held.

RTVE sources highlight that during these days they are meeting with teams from each city to find out what the specific proposal is that each one presents. In addition, they work with different production companies to choose the most viable option for the contest. After this period, the final location will be decided.

Ana María Bordas, head of the Spanish Delegation at Eurovision, has stated to RTVE that she welcomes with “great enthusiasm” the invitation of the EBU for the festival to be held in Spain. Bordas, also vice president of the EBU Television Committee and member of the Eurovision Reference Group, recalled that the objective is to “organize the best possible festival” and for that “RTVE is going to work closely with the EBU and the Junior Eurovision Steering Group”. She promised, that they will put their best creative, technical and human resources to offer a festival designed for young artists in a festive and safe environment.

We are looking forward to know the result! Which city would be your choice?
