Salvador Sobral’s life in danger due to serious health conditions

Salvador Sobral won this year’s edition of Festival da Cancao with the song “Amar pelos dois” written by his sister, Luisa Sobral, and will go on to represent Portugal at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. However, according to the Portuguese portal flash.pt, due to a very serious health condition and a necessary urgent heart transplant, his life is in danger.

After the first semi final of Festival da Cancao, Salvador Sobral was hospitalized, and had two hernias removed – one inguinal and one umbilical. Salvador also has an external pacemaker, and is on the waiting list for a heart transplant, which needs to be done urgently. Time is a critical factor, and Salvador Sobral needs a donor very urgently, maximum by the end of the year.

It has already been announced that Salvador Sobral will not be attending any of the events or preview parties ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest, as he needs to take the Contest itself and everything that goes with it (rehearsals, press conferences) very calmly.
