Melani will represent Spain in Junior Eurovision 2019!

Earlier Spanish broadcaster TVE made waves in the Junior Eurovision world by announcing they’d be making a return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after a 13-year absence!
They did waste no time and have internally selected their candidate already!

Her name is Melani García and she is twelve years old and comes from the Spanish city of Valencia.
Melani is very fond of opera (the work of celebrated opera songstress Maria Callas amongst others), something she showed during her journey in La Voz Kids 2018 (The Spanish version of The Voice Kids), the fourth edition, which she actually won!

This afternoon, Melani was surprised during the show ‘A partir de hoy’ where she was listening to the announcement of the Spanish Junior Eurovision 2019 hopeful.
When they started to describe the entrant she didn’t know immediately they were describing her, but look at her emotional reaction as it suddenly hits her, falling into the arms of her mother:

To get familiar with Melani’s voice, you can listen to her version of the iconic song ‘O sole mio’, which has been covered by grand opera singers before her, like Luciano Pavarotti, Alfredo Krauss and Plácido Domingo:

Melani can’t believe her luck. She exclaims: ”Going to Eurovision is the dream I have dreamed the most!”

The song Melani will be travelling to Gliwice-Silesia in Poland with, and perform it there on November 24, will be revealed at a later stage!
