Germany are looking for extraordinary songs for Eurovision 2020!

Germany will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 as well and have now entered the next stage in their selection!

Until the 30th of August, interested singers could apply and now this next phase consists of Digame (who have joined forces with broadcaster NDR) having opened a website where songwriters can upload their songs!
The songwriters phase will have its deadline on the 1st of October after which a jury will rate all the songs and the best songs will be recorded by several artists that the jury found the best.
The best-rated artists (around 10 to 20) without a song will get the chance to attend a songwriting camp where they are promised the opportunity to work with worldclass composers!
Next to those new songs, they will also get to record some of the already submitted and highly-rated songs.
A jury will then vote on this again and the desired outcome is the perfect combination of song and artist in each individual case!

Digame also speak up on what kind of songs they envision: they mention songs with an international, contemporary sound and above all, those songs that stand out from the crowd!
Songs with a clear message are preferred, those that engage.
As examples they mention Netta’s ‘Toy’ and Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’ as strong, international, engaging songs that have touched the hearts of people all around Europe:

The website where you can submit your entry and find more information can be found right here!
Further details on the plans for next year will be revealed at a later stage!
