Portugal to confirm their participation at Junior Eurovision in the next few days!

In an interview for escportugal, RTP has revealed that their official decision regarding Portuguese participation at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be announced “in the next few days”, while stating that it is “highly likely”  for them to participate at the contest.
After consecutively having a representative in the last three editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest , it is “most likely” that RTP will be competing in this years edition of the show too which will mark their sixth participation at the contest. The Portuguese broadcaster pointed out that the official decision on participation has not yet been made but it will be announced in the next few days.

Last year Portugal was represented by Joana Almeida with “Vem Comigo” (Come With Me) and reached 16th place with 43 points.

The countries which have so far confirmed their participation are: KazakhstanPoland, France, Georgia, Ireland, The NetherlandsRussiaSerbiaSpain, Ukraine and Germany who will be making their debut.

    I am so happy … I wish Portugal to participate, and that we have an excellent position … that month I should, if we have the most stable virus situation, be representing Portugal in Sanremo Junior with my third new song and who knows how to give a little jump to Warsaw … I wish my country the greatest successes and whoever is the representative, be as happy as I was.
