Slovenia will celebrate 60th anniversary at Eurovision with EMA 2021!

RTVSLO has announced in May that they are going to be represented by Ana Soklič at Eurovision 2021. Today they revealed that EMA 2021 is going to be held and it will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Slovenia’s participation at Eurovision (earlier Slovenia participated under Yugoslavia) and the first Yugoslavian entry back at the stage of Cannes in 1961 “Neke Davne Zvezde”, was created by a Slovene author, Jože Privšek. The song was performed by Ljiljana Petrović who passed away in February.

In July, RTV SLO started search for their next song and they received 191 submissions which are narrowed down to three songs.

In the upcoming days the entertainment program, in cooperation with Ana and the expert commission, will decide on the one or two songs for EMA 2021 which will take place on 27th of February.
