The 11 finalist of Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision are revealed!

During the last couple of weeks we presented you all the 70 acts which took part in the pre-qualification phase of Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision you can find acts 1-3 here; acts 4-6 here; acts 7-10 here; acts 11-18 here; acts 19-25 here; acts 26-37 here; acts 38 -45 here; acts 46-54 here and finally acts 54-70 here. This selection was also hit by a disqualification of one of the applicants about which we wrote here. Ukrainian broadcaster has announced today the 11 finalists who will be competing for the chance to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2020 in Warsaw. .

Nikita Achkasov is singing “My Oasis”. Born in Kyiv. Student at the Kyiv school №328. He is a participant in various charitable projects and winner of many national and international competitions, winner of the online charity award “Future of the Nation” Ukrainian People. He is known as a finalist of Fifth season of “The Voice Kids Ukraine”.

Polina Babiy is presenting the song “SuperBit”. She is from Odessa and she participated at the 5th season of The Voice Kids Ukraine and she reached battle rounds where she sang “Show Me Your Love” by Tina Karol. Professionally engaged in vocals since the age of eight. Laureate and winner of many international and national vocal competitions. She studies at the music school in the piano class.

Yulya Karimi will perform the song “People”. Born in Kyiv. She has been singing since she was ten years old. Also a fond of acting, dancing and learning foreign languages. It is extremely important for Yulya to show her creativity through music, not only singing well-known hits, but also writing her own songs. She wants to connect her life with music, and this is her main dream.she is known to the Ukrainian audience as a participant of season five of “The Voice Kids” the same season as Ukrainian representative at Junior Eurovision 2019 Sophia Ivanko and both of them reached the battle rounds but they had different coaches. Yulya was coached by DZIDZIO and Sophia by Jamala.

Oleksandr Balabanov is singing “Vidkryvay” (Open). Born in Donetsk. He has been a fan of music since early childhood, and already at the age of 4 he started attending a children’s folk singing group. At the age of 8 he moved with his parents to Kyiv, where he began to practice pop vocals and entered the art school in the music department. Fluent in English and studying German and Turkish. Oleksandr has won around forty international and national vocal competitions and festivals. He participated in the last two editions of Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovisionin 2019 with the song “Power in You” and in 2018 he was second on the online voting with the song “Ми Діти Землі” (We Are The Children Of The Earth).

Anzhelina McFarlane is singing “My spirit”. She is from Kherson born into a Canadian-Ukrainian family and speaks three languages. Laureate and winner of many national and international competitions. In 2017 she won vocal competition “VOCAL.UA”.

Darin Osman is Ukrainian-Egyptian singer which is covering “A Natural Woman”. She was born in Cairo but at the age of 5 she moved to Ukraine, where she lives. Darin studies foreign languages and is engaged in acting. She tried herself as an artist and even won prizes at city competitions.Darin is actively involved in various projects and starred in music videos. Last year she recorded a song “Наш дім” as part of anti-bullying campaign.

Yaroslav Politov sings “Ya b tudy”. He is from the city of Energodar, Zaporozhye region. Yaroslav started singing at the age of three and attended music school from the age of five. Winner of many competitions and festivals and known as a superfinalist of the fifth season of “The Voice Kids Ukraine” at his blind audition Yaroslav covered Australian Eurovision song from 2016 “Sound Of Silence” by Dami Im.

Anhelina Terennikova presents “The Vibe”. Born in Kyiv, but began her career in Zhytomyr when she was four years old. She started participating in concerts and competitions at the age of five. She has competed at last years national final for Junior Eurovision with the song “Fly Away” while the audience also knows her as a participant of the fifth season of “The Voice Kids Ukraine” where she was coached by Jamala and was eliminated in the battle rounds.

Olena Usenko is singing her song “Never Get Free”. Born in Kyiv, but lives in two cities: Bila Tserkva and Kyiv. She studies at school “Source”. Has been singing since the age of six. Olena plays guitar, ukulele and synthesizer. Her interests include dancing and acting. At the age of 13 she managed to act in several films and participated in vocal shows. Like Nikita, Yulya, Yaroslav and Polina, she participated in the fifth season of The Voice Kids Ukraine but unfortunately hadn’t made past the blind auditions even though she sang the song of one the judges.

Daniyela Shapochnikova will perform the song “Tvoye Maybutnye” (Your Future). Born in Kyiv. She started singing at the age of three. In addition to pop vocals, she is a professional figure skater and is the first in youth category. She has won a huge number of prizes in various international and national competitions. Daniyela is engaged in various types of art: drawing, dancing and she is also an active participant in national and international vocal competitions, as well as concerts and other artistic events.

Sofiya Shkidchenko is singing “OK”. Lives in Kyiv. She is a 14 year old girl and a multi-genre artist who sings everything from rock to jazz and loves to experiment in her work, where she can use different vocal techniques. Outside Ukraine, she is better known as the Ukrainian yodler after showing her yodeling skills in “Ukraine Got Talent” after that Sofiya took part in the Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision held in 2017 where he ended on 8th place with the song “Yo De Ley”. Her work includes collaborations with foreign artists. She has repeatedly won many national and international competitions. Sofia writes original songs and loves to travel. Her dream is to become an artist who creates great music.

UA: PBC will provide a song for participants who have submitted previous versions to record. Original song players will also have the opportunity to record this song, if they choose so. By the 4th of September it is expected that all the songs will be provided and the final phase will commence from 5th to 7th of September when a jury and the users of social networks will decide the winner among the eleven finalists.

It is expected that the winner of the next Ukrainian representative at Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be announced latest on 12th of September. Who is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below!
