Seven New Songs Coming This Week!

As hard as it may be to believe, it’s now March! And with about two weeks to go before countries have to submit their song to the EBU, just over half of the competing countries have their songs and artists finalized. This means that there are lots of Eurovision shows still to come! After a quieter week last week, things are getting busy to kick off the month of March! On Sunday morning, we will have seven more songs to add to our Eurovision 2022 playlists! Here is the full schedule…

Thursday, 3rd March

🇷🇸

Pesma za Evroviziju kicks off in Serbia on Thursday. There are 36 songs still in the competition, and 18 will take to the stage in the 1st Semi Final, which will air at 21:00 CET on RTS. This show will select 9 acts that will move on to Saturday’s Final.

Dutch singer S10 is due to release her song on Thursday. The Netherlands was one of the first countries to announce its artist for Eurovision 2022 back in December, however we’ve been waiting for the song since then.

Friday, 4th March

🇩🇪⭐

Germany’s first National Final since 2019 will be held on Friday in Berlin! The winner of Germany 12 Points will be selected through public voting (including options for landline, SMS and online voting). Online voting has begun on the official websites of the nine ARD radio channels and is open until 4th March. Germany 12 Points will air on NDR at 20:15 CET.

Pesma za Evroviziju continues in Serbia on Friday. The other 18 acts will perform in the 2nd Semi Final, which will air at 21:05 CET, again on RTS. This show will select the last 9 acts that will move on to Saturday’s Final.

Albania’s Festivali i Këngës winner Ronela Hajati has made a revamp of her song “Sekret” which is expected to be released on Friday.

Vladana will release her song “Breathe” for Montenegro on Friday. She’s been hard at work over the past weeks doing rehersals and filming the video for her song.

Saturday, 5th March

🇸🇪

Melodifestivalen‘s Semi Final will air on SVT and SVT Play at 20:00 CET. The final heat took place on Saturday, and the 8 artists that will perform in the Semi Final have now been decided and placed into a running order. Only 4 will move on to the Swedish Final on 12th March!

🇩🇰⭐

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix kicks off at 20:00 CET on Saturday! Hosted by Tina Müller and Martin Brygmann, the show will be available on DR1 as well as streamed online on DR TV and the official DR website. Eight acts are vying for the win this year. Pre-voting has begun and will conclude on 4th March. Viewers will be able to vote during the live show as well. The top 3 artists will move on to a Superfinal, and the voting will reset.

Selecția Națională is the third show that starts at 20:00 CET on Saturday. It will be shown on TVR1, TVR HD, TVRi as well as on the streaming service TVR+ and YouTube. Ten songs will compete to represent Romania in Turin, and the winner will be determined by the combination of jury votes and televoting. Several Eurovision 2022 stars are headed to Bucharest to perform during the show’s Interval Act.

Five more Icelandic acts are due to perform in this week’s show at Söngvakeppnin! It’s the 2nd Semi Final, and the show will start at 20:45 CET and air on RÚV. Two artists will qualify directly to the final on 12th March and join Stefán Óli and Sigga, Beta and Elín from last week’s Semi Final. There is also 1 Wild Card spot to be revealed to make a Final of 5 acts next week.

Two weeks ago, France 2 revealed the 12 artists and songs that will compete in France’s National Final: C’est vous qui décidez. The show, airing for the second year in a row, will air at 21:05 CET on Saturday and we will have our second “Big 5″ song in two days! Televoters will choose 5 artists to move to the superfinal, and the 10-member jury will elect a wildcard to move on as well. France’s representative in Turin will be determined by a 50/50 split between the jury and televoters.

Pesma za Evroviziju 2022 wraps up at 21:05 CET on Saturday on RTS. The 18 acts that qualified from the two Semi Finals will battle it out in this massive final! Serbia’s representative for Turin will be decided by a 50/50 split of votes from a jury and the Serbian public.

Saturday’s last show will start at 22:00 CET on RTP from Portugal. Festival da Canção’s 1st Semi Final will feature ten entries, of which five will move on to the Final on 12th March. The results will be determined by a 50/50 combination of votes between a jury and public televoting. In the event of a tie, the jury score will break it. Viewers will also be treated to performances from Rita Redshoes and The Black Mamba, who represented Portugal at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam.
