Lithuania won’t take part at Junior Eurovision 2021!

The head of the Lithuanian delegation, Audrius Giržadas, confirmed to Eurofestivales that Lithuania won’t be returning at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

For the reason of that decision Giržadas stated that the costs of participation at the children edition of the contest are quite high for the LRT while the number of audience watching the show is low.

Lithuania made their debut at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with “Kai miestas snaudžia” by Lina Jurevičiute, the year after they managed to achieve their best result at the contest when “Laiminga Diena” Egle Jurgaitytė ended on 3rd place you can check the performance of it below. Their final withdrawal from the show came in 2012 because LRT didn’t have the budget to broadcast all the events which were organised that year.
